Terms of use

The short terms for catzoid.com and the Catzoid apps.

Draft. These terms have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer.

The software

The Catzoid apps are free and open source. Your rights to use, copy, change and share them come from their licences — GPL-3.0 for the apps and AGPL-3.0 for DialCatz Den — not from this page. See licences.

The software is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, as the licences say. DevCatz installs runtimes, databases and system helpers on your request, and DBCatz changes the databases you connect it to: keep backups of anything that matters, and take extra care with production databases.

The names and the cat

“Catzoid”, “DevCatz”, “DBCatz”, “DialCatz”, “DoCatz”, their logos and the cat are trademarks of the project. The licences let you fork the code; they do not let you use these names or marks for your fork. Give it its own name and icon, and say it is based on Catzoid if you like.

Other people’s services

The apps can talk to services you choose — AI providers, Git hosts, tunnels, cloud databases. Your use of those is governed by their terms, and any cost they charge is between you and them.

The website

Use catzoid.com normally: do not attack it, overload it or try to get into the admin area. Downloads are offered from our servers and GitHub; check that you get them from catzoid.com or github.com/catzoidhub.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when. Questions: open an issue on GitHub.
